Smooth as Honey

Do you ever have those days where you know it’s going to be a good one? This morning was one of those times. Everything just fell right into place, like a jigsaw puzzle. There were no turning the pieces or pounding fists trying to smash the pieces together or attempting to wedge the circular ends with your thumb because you know they were suppose to fit into one another and it had to be some sort of mistake on the manufactures end. No, not today. All the puzzle pieces slid right into one another effortlessly. It was awesome. It was carefree and relaxing. It was just how life should be.

It was gorgeous today. The rain and fog cleared, making the mountain scene picturesque- bright blue sky, snow-capped mountains, and the sun was playing peek-a-boo through the white cotton ball clouds. The smell of the air was so clean and crisp, just delicious. I dig this time of year. It’s so comforting in the security of your home kind of way.

Have I mentioned how easy going today was? It was as smooth as honey. We woke up after getting seven hours, yes seven hours, of blissful sleep. Ron made eggs for breakfast while I brewed a pot Boca Java Coffee. The aromas instantly filled our house luring Krysta downstairs with a hungry belly. William was still asleep, so it was just the three of us gathered around the breakfast bar talking about our goodnight’s dreams.

I love having pleasant, early morning, half asleep conversations with my girl before the rest of the world wakes up.

And the sweetness of honey continued to flow smoothly and steadily throughout the rest of the day.

The hubster and I met for some much needed Mexican food and quality time. It’s not often that we get to have a sit-down lunch date, so it’s a treat when the occasion arises. We can have real adult conversations without having to constantly keep babies stimulated by playing tic-tac-toe, word games, and mazes on the complimentarily kids book with four primary crayola crayon colors. We talk about the weather, the kids, the happenings on base, and of course politics. It wouldn’t be a normal day in the Roe Household without discussing Obama, Levin, and/or the upcoming elections- by the way, get out and vote this November!

After picking Krysta up from school, it was too gorgeous to stay inside. So we did something we NEVER do. We played outside BEFORE doing homework. I know, I know- I’m living on the wild side! I’m a rebel like that. Our days of 40 degree weather with sunshine are limited, so we’re soaking it up before the twenty’s, teens, and below zero something’s arrive.

Krysta pulled her chalk out of the garage while I swapped out the laundry and took out the recycling, and then we met in the driveway for some color explosion fun.

William watched us with curious eyes as we made colorful marks on the gray pavement.

Our creative juices were flowing.

We made stroke after stroke…

used color after color…

 formed shape after shape…

until our picture was finished.

TA-DA!

Of course we made Happy Faces to go with our Happy Fall picture.

I hope ya'll are having fabulous Autumn weather and that your day as been as smooth as honey.

I'm going to close today with a couple of pictures from my small city:

HAPPY FALL YA'LL!
love, Krysta Jean's Smiley Faces
