A little Christmas spirit.

We’re getting closer and closer to the big day. Christmas day, that is. A day full of spirit and love and warmth and family and babies and togetherness and, all things good. And man, I am feeling it! I’m completely joyous from my head to the tips of my toes. Everywhere I turn, I’m getting high off of the Christmas spirit.

I just want to give, give, give, and then give some more. I want to say “Merry Christmas” to complete strangers and they’ll sincerely reply by saying, “And a Merry Christmas to you too!” I want to put up a giant billboard on our roof that flashes and says “Santa Stop Here” with a huge arrow pointing at our house. I want to sing Christmas carols in the car, in the shower, at the grocery store, and everywhere in between. I want to leave a trail of red, green, and gold glitter wherever I go because I dig the magic during this time of year.

And to continue my Christmas high, Krysta had her Christmas concert last night. She was on Cloud 9 all week waiting for her moment. Everyday she would come home saying, "mom, are you excited to hear me sing on Friday?" and I would say, "oh my goodness, I'm soooooo excited" and she was do a little wiggle because she could hardly contain herself with all of the anticipation.

While we waited --for over an hour-- for Krysta to perform, we snuck into the school library to read books. We're rebels like that.

Little Dude is ready for school. He quietly listened as I read him, "Goodnight Moon".

During Krysta performance, she kept looking at me through the sides of her eyes to make sure I was paying VERY close attention. And I was. I was beaming from ear to ear as she belted "Over the River and Through the Woods" and "Up on the Housetop."

We may not have a flashy billboard sign or a continuous trail of glitter, but we do have sparkly lights and a shimmering tree that lights up our house with a soft glow, and that’s just fine with us.
